How do we collect information from you and what type of information do we collect from you?

The information collected from our members and users is used to communicate with you on a regular basis to inform you of the various programmes, events and activities that are related to The Lunar Society. We collect information from our members and users via membership forms, online event bookings and surveys (where appropriate) in order to further develop and improve our programmes and events and to help us progress the work The Lunar Society. We also collect data from members and users of the website via online membership forms, donation forms, event registration forms and by email, that could be used to identify you as an individual. The information you provide will be your email address, your name, postal address and your telephone number(s).

If you choose to pay online to The Lunar Society for event bookings and membership, then your financial information is only provided to and used by our third party payment processors, PayPal, as this is the only means of payment available on our website. PayPal may collect additional information from you, to include your name, credit card number and address .For those not wishing to use PayPal you can contact our office for alternative methods of payments such as bank transfer or cheque.

When you visit our website, we may also collect information such as your IP address and information about your visit, the pages viewed and the browser used.

We take your privacy seriously and are open about the way in which data is collected and used. This Privacy Policy applies only to services provided on our website. We cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other sites such as social media platforms including Linked In, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and You Tube even if you access them using links from our website, so we encourage you to read the privacy statements on these other sites and social media platforms. However, this Privacy Policy does apply to all personal information that we might process on the Lunar Society’s social media sites.

We will use your personal data in order to provide information to you about our programmes, events and activities and invite you to events and to participate to fulfil your requests for information from us and to assist in progressing the work of The Lunar Society. We may use your information to contact you from time to time about The Lunar Society and to gather further information and feedback from you.
