Lunar Society 2019 AGM and Engagement Event

All members are welcome to attend the review of the previous year and proposals for 2019/2020. Members will receive information in advance, in line with the Society’s Constitution, along with nomination papers relating to the various Executive Committee vacancies.   Those members attending the AGM are afterwards invited to come along to the official private view for the ‘Watt in the World’ James Watt Bicentenary exhibition and Midlands launch of the new History West Midlands book ‘The Power to Change the World - James Watt in 50 Objects. Although best known for his steam engine work, Watt was a man of many other talents. He worked as a mathematical instrument maker and a civil engineer. He invented the first reliable document copier and was a talented chemist, jointly responsible for proving that water is a compound rather than an element. The Boulton and Watt steam engine company was responsible for making Watt a wealthy man.
